inkedIn is the most trusted social network in the United States. According to statistics, about 73% of American users consider this site to be trustworthy and safe. That's why your page should be perfect, without weird interests and controversial influencers in subscriptions. Otherwise, employers, colleagues, and business partners may decline to work with you just because of such small things. Are you no longer interested in something? Then keep reading! In this article, I'll tell you how to remove interests on LinkedIn.

How to remove interests on LinkedIn via a mobile app?

Some people may think that instruction with screenshots is a bit too much. After all, this social network has a straightforward interface. Unfortunately, it's the question of how to remove something from interests on a LinkedIn account is not so easy. Removing some information from the interests tab via a mobile app or a desktop device is very different. That's why the whole way will take several times longer without help.

I decided to start the step-by-step guide on how to remove interests on a LinkedIn profile with something less complicated. Since the LinkedIn mobile app has a simpler interface, you can do the job without any problems.

Step 1

Go to the LinkedIn app on your smartphone. If you don't have the mobile application installed, you can download it. I highly recommend doing this because deleting interests in your profile through the software is more convenient.

Step 2

Once you are in the app, you should go to your profile page. You can do so highly easily: press on your profile avatar in the top-left corner and choose the View page to open the app.

Step 3

Now, once you're on your profile page, you have the most tricky task of all. Typically, the instructions recommend going to the Interests tab. However, no one clarifies that this very same tab is almost at the bottom of the web page. Scroll to the bottom of the screen and choose to See all in the necessary subsection.

There is no separate tab for Interests, making it much harder for users to understand how to remove interests on LinkedIn properly.

Step 4

After you have completed all the above steps, you will be taken to a new page. Here you will see a list of all the interests that you can remove in one tap. For usability, LinkedIn has divided your interests in your profile into Companies, Influencers, Groups, and Schools.

Step 5

Pick from the list of available options the interest/person you want to unfollow. To achieve this, press once on the Following button to the right of each logo/avatar.

Step 6

If you accidentally tapped on the wrong button, you can go back. Just tap Follow, and the page or specific influencer will be displayed on your profile page again.

Congratulations! You have completed all the steps of how to remove interests on LinkedIn using the mobile application.

How to remove interests on LinkedIn using desktop devices?

As I mentioned before, the process of deleting your interests from your profile via computer or laptop is a bit more complicated. Even so, you can complete the process in a few clicks.

Step 1

Go to LinkedIn.com and log in to your account if you haven't done so before. Then in the upper-right corner, find the Me tab (the little circle with your picture) and click on it.

Step 2

After this step, you'll be taken to your profile page, where you can remove any unwanted interests from your list. Scroll down to the Interests section and click See all.

While the first steps are similar to how to remove interests on LinkedIn via a mobile app, some people may find it difficult later on. Even I didn't figure out how to proceed from the first second.

Step 3

Once you press See all, the magic happens. You get a pop-up window with several tabs. In my case, there are only two additional tabs. But if I were subscribed to groups or schools, the tabs of the same name would appear here.

Step 4

At this stage, you should select which interest category you want to edit. Once you have done this, you will see a Follow button next to the name of the Influencer or company. Click it to remove the page from your profile's list of interests. If you've done everything correctly, the title of the button will change to Follow.

Step 5

To unfollow a company, group, or school page, you'll have to do a slightly different action. First, select the Companies tab. From the available list, choose the page whose feed updates you want to unsubscribe from.

Step 6

On the new page, right under the banner and company name, you will see several buttons. One of them will be the Following one. Click it.

Step 7

After you do this, you will see a pop-up with a question. At this point, you should confirm the action by pressing Unfollow or hitting Cancel. If you did it right, you'd see Follow instead of Following.
